The heavy promotion of the “universal basic income” is what turns millennials into collectivists. They see the problem but are offered wrong solutions. Money inevitably centralizes power in the hands of a few.
More realistically the world has had much of the same, free-markets have never really existed, centralization is collectivism, we have had various mild forms of either collectivism or fascism since about centuries, depending on which side of the fence one wishes to scrutinize the issues. The theories of Individualism and unlimited profit seeking (Adam Smith and Ayn Rand’s favorites) were used as baits. Even Hayek and Friedman conceived that free-markets only work on paper and talked of the need of some sort of basic income.
All ideologies favoring speculation are wasteful systems, just think about world pollution caused by (hyper)consumerism, endless profit seeking requires us to consume more and more. Market obsolescence and the decreasing food quality are mere symptoms. But the fact is that if corporations were addressing the environment, their profits would vanish overnight.
Why have so many humans difficulties to grasp that one cannot borrow the future because only the NOW is what counts in the entire universe. Fear of dying?
What the consensus calls “wealth” has been the acquired through blood sacrifices (endless conflicts, wars and genocides), so this type of wealth comes with a dire karma attached as it always breeds resentment among populations and therefore upheavals. It is impossible to profit when saying the Truth and nobody can take over. That’s why we have not been able to get rid of the boom-bust cycles and never will… and the next bust will be an absolute nightmare… robots and AI are coming and will farm humans to no end…. unless awareness begins to spread like wildfire. So please share this blog with others. Thank you!
Millennials and the Scary Support of Socialism & Communism…. According to the latest findings from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, 50 percent of today’s American millennials view socialism or communism as the ideal political ideology. Half of them have found their heroes in dictators such as Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong. Lenin, Che, and Kim Jong Un. The country that grew into the wealthiest on earth through capitalism is showing alarming signs of turning away from its roots.
